Is there anything James Franco can’t do? In just over a week, he can officially add adman to his résumé. On Feb. 15, 7 For All Mankind will launch the first of 10 video vignettes shot by Franco on their YouTube channel. Dubbed Episodes of an Untitled Film, the videos will go live weekly through the spring.
“The videos have a vintage feel to them,” Franco told WWD. “They feel like they are from a different era, which I think really fits with the new line that 7 had in the shoot — a lot of cool denim tops and jeans.
“The look of the film and the clothes feels very Seventies,” added Franco of the 7 shoot. “We shot right on the beach and drove up the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway), so I guess you could say it’s a vintage 1970’s California dreamy feel. The movies that I cut together have a lot of weird double exposures and superimposed images over other images, so it’s a real, I guess you could say, trip.”
Shot over a weekend in early December, Episodes of an Untitled Film was filmed inside a rented house, its pool and garden areas, a nearby beach and on the Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica. With that, go behind the scenes with Franco and the rest of the cast and crew.
