You might not be familiar with the work of Richard Phillips, but I guarantee you will like it. Over the last couple years, Phillips has embarked on a new phase of work that hinges on the self-awareness of real-life subjects. His first two muses – Lindsay Lohan and Sasha Grey – debuted last year in the form of “motion portraits.” Now, with the addition of Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima, Phillips has created a new series of paintings. If you’re in town, be sure to check out the opening reception next Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. to be among the first to see the exhibit which runs through October 20. Gagosian Gallery is located at 555 West 24th Street in New York City.
