Now Open: Our Favorite Shop

It was only a matter of time before CLAE opened their own store. And while Our Favorite Shop isn’t your traditional flagship, it is a retail/creative space that the brand can call home.


The brainchild of Sung Choi, CLAE’s founder and creative director, the interior was designed in collaboration with Nathan Lentz, Shin Azumi and Francis Ireifej. As soon as the space was discovered in the Mid-City area, the neighborhood Choi has called home for the last 12 years, he knew it was perfect.

“Investing in the community and adding to the eclectic mix of shops already here was really important to me,” says Choi. “Our Favorite Shop is a great opportunity to showcase CLAE alongside interesting items from our favorite artisans as well as from our travels.”

Retail veteran and longtime friend, Pete Arbelaez, a Union Los Angeles alum and the founder of Craft in Los Angeles, has been brought aboard as a partner.

“Sung and I both grew up in New York,” says Arbelaez. “But now that we’re locals in this neighborhood, we thought it was a great opportunity for us to bring some of the community vibe we grew up with out here.”

In addition to CLAE footwear, Our Favorite Shop will also feature various accessories, books and periodicals, plus a selection of new and vintage LPs, CDs and DVDs.

Our Favorite Shop is located at 5455 West Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles, and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
