What looks like a cross between Inception and The Adjustment Bureau, comes the futuristic action thriller Looper from writer/director Rian Johnson. When the mob wants to get rid of someone in the present, they send their target 30 years into the past where a “looper” (a hired gun) is waiting to mop up. Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is getting rich and living the good life, that is until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. The film also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, Noah Segan, Piper Perabo and Jeff Daniels.
