While the relationship between Britain and Japan began in 1600, it’s gone to a whole new level in 2013 thanks to Archibald Optics. Combining classic British design and modern Japanese craftsmanship, the direct-to-customer luxury eyewear brand already has Jude Law calling them – and they just launched two weeks ago.
The brainchild of Rohan Dhir, Michael Tesfaye and Chris Benns, Archibald Optics takes inspiration from London’s past to create eyewear for the modern man (and woman) that is bold, brave and beautiful. Designed in London and handcrafted in Fukui, Japan, they currently offer 15 different frames with about four color options for each. And what sets them apart from their peers? Hi-index lenses come standard with every pair.
While they plan to start shipping to the States in the next couple months, currently Archibald Optics only ships to the UK. But if you’re in London, you can always stop by to try on some frames at their Notting Hill office. Can’t make the trip? Don’t worry about it. They’ll send you a free Home Try-On Kit with return shipping label and no obligation to purchase. If it was any easier, it wouldn’t be real.
Archibald Optics glasses are available now exclusively at their online store.
