After co-writing Moonrise Kingdom together, Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola have teamed up with Prada to direct a modern-day interpretation of Jules et Jim. And while I would have loved to see Jeanne Moreau reprise her role as Catherine, French actress Léa Seydoux does just fine as Candy, alongside Rodolphe Pauly (Julius) and Peter Gadiot (Gene). While the three short stories come together nicely in Prada Candy to the tunes of France Gall and Jacques Dutronc, it just makes you wonder what life would have been like had Anderson and Coppola been alive at the onset of the Nouvelle Vague movement. Well, at least we now have this.
Prada Candy L’Eau is available now at select retailers worldwide.
