When Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger were kids, they loved playing around with cameras – especially Polaroid cameras. They specifically loved that fact that the photos were “instant.” While this concept may be different in the highly connected world we live in today, Systrom and Krieger found a way to bring back that magical feeling in the 21st century: Instagram.
While some may simply view it as a new avenue for photo sharing, others view it as a new whole artform in its own right. Snap a photo with your iPhone, choose a filter and instantaneously send it to Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr or Flickr – it’s that easy.
